In the autumn of 2019, the originally closed area of the summer cinema in Smetana Gardens in Nový Jičín was opened to the public. The dilapidated open-air biograph has been replaced by a relaxation and leisure zone, dominated by a water area surrounded by plants. There is also a small stage with an auditorium, a wading pool, a promenade and flower and herb beds.

Screenings in the summer cinema have been taking place for several years in the New Sun garden.
