Soldier! Welcome to the battlefield! You have the honour, just like General Ernst Gideon von Laudon, of proving your courage and intelligence in the service of the Imperial Army. For every military cipher you successfully decipher, you will earn a higher military rank. The most successful soldiers will also receive imperial honours and decorations.

Our lands are suffering from Turkish attacks. The enemy seeks victory through merciless violence and bloodshed. However, anyone aspiring to the highest ranks in the Imperial Army of Her Majesty Empress Maria Theresa must rely above all on their ingenuity and sharpness of mind.

If you manage to decipher all the military ciphers, you will rise to the highest ranks in the Imperial Army. Your mission will be to discover and collect all the decorations of the Imperial Grand Cross and, thanks to them, finally solve the mysterious final puzzle. Only then will you be victorious and receive your well-deserved reward.

Rules of the game:

1. With a valid admission ticket to the exhibition, which you can obtain at the Imperial Army Headquarters (the TIC reception desk), you may enter the battlefield (the General Laudon Exhibition and the Hat Exhibition).

2. Your weapons are neither rifles nor swords, but a sharp mind, a pencil and a game sheet (available at the TIC reception desk).

3. The game sheet contains a total of 14 ciphers. Solve them one by one, in order. Once you decipher a cipher, you will find a word clue beneath it, leading you to a military decoration – the Imperial Grand Cross.

4. Each Grand Cross bears two numbers. The first indicates the position of the word in the final puzzle. The second indicates the position of the letter in the deciphered word that forms part of the final solution. Write both numbers on your game sheet. Please leave the Grand Cross decoration undamaged and in its original place.

5. The military ciphers and the hidden locations of the Grand Cross decorations are strictly confidential! Do not reveal them to anyone!

6. If you manage to decipher all 14 ciphers, find all 14 Grand Cross decorations using the clues, and finally solve the grand final puzzle consisting of 14 letters, report your success to the Imperial Army Headquarters (the TIC reception desk). You will receive your well-deserved reward and honours.
