Palacký trail
In addition to active movement, the Palacký Trail has an educational value as it runs parallel to the František Palacký Educational Trail. The cycle route starts in the village of Kunín, where the Kunín Chateau is located, which is currently one of the most valuable Baroque buildings of its kind in Moravia. In the 18th century, Countess Marie Walburga of Truchsess-Zeil founded the Educational Institute for Youth in the castle, which was also attended by the Father of the Nation, František Palacký. From Kunín, the route leads to Šenov u Nové Jičín, where Franz Barwig was born and is best known as the author of the sculpture Dancing Kunvaldians, which is located on the fountain on the square in Nový Jičín. Then the route continues through Nový Jičín over the Svinec hill, at the foot of which, towards the local part of Kojetín, one of the rich springs of strongly calcareous drinking water called the Eye Well springs. Above it lies the important archaeological site of Požaha, which is a typical example of submarine volcanic activity from the Lower Cretaceous period.
The route continues to the local part of Stranik. In its vicinity there is another natural monument of Pillow Lava reminding of ancient volcanic activity. These are unique natural formations on the territory of the Czech Republic. From Stranik, a route leads to the village of Hostašovice, through whose territory the main European watershed passes. The local attractions include a mash house, where buckwheat is still milled, which has been cultivated and processed here since the end of the 18th century. Near the village there are two natural monuments, the valuable wet meadow communities 'Domorazské meadows' and 'Zrzávka springs' with five mineral springs, preserved meadow communities and adjacent wet meadows. A unique double spring of iron and sulphur water springs up here.
Behind Hostašovice, the Palacký trail connects to the cycling trail No. 6016, which leads to Frenštát pod Radhoštěm or Rožnov pod Radhoštěm.
