Jan Brod (19 May 1912 - 10 February 1985) was a Czech physician, founder of Czech nephrology and professor at Charles University. He was also one of the four co-authors of the manifesto "Two Thousand Words" and after 1968.

The commemorative plaque was created on the initiative of the Club of Natives and Friends of Nový Jičín and is located on Jan Brod's birthplace at 11 Havlíčkova Street.
