Stary Jicin
Starý Jičín, a neighbouring town to Nový Jičín, was founded at the beginning of the 13th century. Its origins and development are mainly linked to the Starý Jičín Castle, which dominates the whole of Starý Jičín. Unfortunately, the castle has deteriorated over time and is now referred to as a ruin. A seasonal café and an observation tower are available for visitors. The views of the wide surroundings are beautiful and varied. The grounds are accessible all year round, and the castle is reached by a woodland walk from the square, where car parking spaces are also available. In addition to the castle, you can visit other sights such as the Parish Church of St. Wenceslas, the stone pillory and the statue of St. John of Nepomuk.
You can also go for a swim in the outdoor swimming pool, or watch tennis tournaments, football matches or events of the volunteer fire brigade on the local playground.
