Tourist information center Of Nový Jičín

From Nový Jičín you can take a trip north to Fulnek. It is famous for the fact that Jan Ámos Komenský stayed here in 1618-1621.

The dominant feature of the town is the chateau, consisting of a large complex of the Lower and Upper Chateau, the latter standing on the site of a former Gothic castle. The castle is in private hands and not open to the public. The most important Baroque monument is the parish church of the Holy Trinity. It forms part of the grounds of the former Augustinian monastery and is connected to the square below by Baroque stairs.

The Jan Amos Comenius Memorial is a cultural monument. It is located in the building of a fraternal congregation, later converted into a hospital. At present it houses a museum presenting the life and work of the "Teacher of Nations".

If you like cycling, it is worth mentioning the cycle paths that Fulnek boasts - for example, the Kravařsko long-distance route. You can also cycle to the Oder Hills Nature Park.
