Libhošť
Libhošt' is located in the Moravian-Silesian Region, approximately 4 km northeast of Nový Jičín. Although no documents about the founding of the village have been preserved, there are assumptions that the origins of the village date back to around 1230. The first written mention of the village dates back to 1411 and is found in a deed by which Mr Lacek of Kravař, the lord of Helfštýn, who inherited the Štramberk manor, granted the municipalities of his manor the right to occupy abandoned houses and farms with the village's own resources.
Since 1 January 2011, Libhošt' is again an independent municipality, after it separated from the town of Nový Jičín, of which it had been a part since the 1970s, thanks to the result of a local referendum. The village has social organizations of firefighters, gardeners, hunters, an educational meeting, a football club and a pensioners' club. Cultural and social life is concentrated in the building of the fojtství, which is a cultural monument.
One of Libhoště's attractions is, for example, the former windmill.
