Šenov u Nového Jičína
Šenov u Nové Jičína is situated on both banks of the Jičínky River. The first written mention dates back to 1383. In 1946 Šenov was annexed to Nové Jičín, but since 1994 it has been an independent municipality again.
The oldest monument in Šenov is the Church of St. Martin dating from the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. Another landmark is the stone reconciliation cross behind the village. Near the Hotel Salaš there is the Bannerova studánka (Banner's Well), a beautiful forest with a view of the surrounding countryside. The advantages of the village include beautiful natural surroundings and the immediate proximity of the historic town of Nový Jičín. Every year in August, a famous village festival called Šenovský škrpál is held here.
